An Expo-themed exhibition was held yesterday evening at Taipei's Xinyi District.

Taipei Mayor Hau Long-bin, China Friendship Association of Cultural Circles' first Dupty Chairman Ai Qingchun, Taipei World Trade Center's Chairman Chih Kang Wang, Zhu Yonglei, head of Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio, Film and TV and deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination attended the opening ceremony of the Shanghai culture week in Taipei, to which the exhibition belongs.

Hau called on the Taipei residents to visit the Expo 2010 during the opening ceremony.

The exhibition featured more than 200 pictures, four models and multimedia techniques, which provide a general introduction of Expo 2010, Taiwan's participation in Expo 2010 and a collection of own-built pavilions' plans.

Along with the exhibition, Expo 2010 organizer also joined hands with Taiwan-based companies and the Expo ticket agency in Taiwan for Expo quizzes to offer Taipei residents Expo tickets as reward.

Shanghai's culture week in Taipei from October 13 to 25 was the first time for Shanghai to hold such large scale performance and exhibition in Taipei. During the Expo period next year, Taipei will hold a Taipei culture week in Shanghai.

The Shanghai culture week is well received in Taipei: about 1,000 of Expo 2010 banners appeared in Taipei and Expo handouts were very popular with residents there. From October 12 to 16, Taiwan's local TV station such as CtiTV's News Channel, Asia Channel and America Channel aired Expo 2010 in in-depth reports.
