1984年,3萬套萬向節總成第一次出口美國，成為第一家進入美國汽車零部件維修市場的中國企業。

　　1994年，在美國芝加哥設立萬向美國公司。十多年間，實現了從産品走出去、到人員走出去、再到企業走出去的跨越，從單一的産品銷售擴大到進行國際資源配置，並先後在8個國家建立了30家海外分公司，構建成涵蓋40多個國家和地區的國際行銷網路。與海外企業建立起戰略同盟關係，産品為通用、福特等汽車公司配套，成為第一家進入國際主機件廠配套線的中國零部件企業。

　　2001年，收購包括美國上市公司UAI在內的9家企業。

　　2002年8月，美國伊利諾伊州政府命名8月 12日為“萬向日”，以表彰萬向對該州經濟發展的貢獻。

　　2003年10月，收購全球最大的翼形萬向節傳動軸一級供應商一美國洛克福特公司。

In 1984, WanXiang exported 30,000 sets of u-joint assemblies to the USA, which marked the beginning of Chinese enterprises entering American aftermarket of automotive industry.
