嘉興（乍浦）港次國務院批准對外國籍船舶開放的一類口岸，具有良好深水岸線和港口條件，年吞吐能力1500萬噸。口岸聯檢海關、國檢、海事、邊檢及港務機構齊全。

　　嘉興港區具有臨港産業和出口加工業的巨大潛力，港口後方由省級乍浦經濟開發區和國家級嘉興出口加工區。開發區規劃面積21。8平方公里，其中浙江乍浦石油化學工業園係浙江省“十五”期間重點發展的三個重點化工園區之一。嘉興出口加工區為浙江省僅有的三個國家級出口加工區之一。

　　乍浦是一座歷史悠久的千年古鎮，素有“講浙門戶、海口重鎮”之稱，現正在建成杭州灣北岸現代化的濱海港口新城。

Jiaxing Port & Development Zone is lying in the northern bank of Hangzhou Bay, south wing of  Shanghai City, which is a gold area in Yangtze River Delta by the Chinese east coastline. It is also one main hub of communications of Shanghai-Hangzhou-Suzhou-Ningbo Area and 1 00 kilometers away from the above cities. It governs Jiaxing Port, Zhejiang Zhapu Economic Development Zone, Jiaxing Export Processing Zone and Zhapu Town with the total area of 54 square kilometers and a population of 72thousand.

Jiaxing (Zhapu) Port is the first class opening port ratified by the State Council with perfect deep-water seashore and turminal-building conditions.It is a medium-sized port with annual handling capacity of 15millioin tons and compleleted organizations of joint inspection.national examinations,marine affairs,front inspection and port affairs

With enormous potentiality of developing port-bordering industry and export-processing industry,Jiaxing port & Development Zone has established provincial Zhapu Economic Development zone and national Jiaxing Export Processing Zone.Zhapu EDZ has an area of 21.8 square kilometers,among which Zhejiang Zhapu Petrochemical Park is one of the only three national EPZs in Zhejiang Province
