LONDON -- China shut up doubts after a preliminary sixth place to win the Olympics men's team of gymnastics on Monday.
Chinese team successfully defended the title in a prevailing style, allowing no single major error to collect 275.997 points. Japan came in second due to mistakes from Koji Yamamuro on Vault, Kazuhito Tanaka Kohei on floor and Uchimura on pommel horse.
Japan, 4.045 points behind the champions, was ruled out of the possibility to win the desperately desired title after Chinese gymnasts finished their last apparatus, pommel horse, without a fall.
Britain came up with a surprise bronze thanks to a series of blunders from team USA and Russia.
