SHENZHEN, China -- Australia set a new Universiade record here on Sunday in the women's 4X100m freestyle relay, claiming the title in 3 mintes and 40.03 seconds.
This was the first game record refreshed in the ongoing 26th Summer Universiade in south China's city of Shenzhen.
The time was 0.82 second ahead of the previous record held by the United States for four years.
The United States took the silver today in 3:40.19 while hosts China finished third in 3:40.29.
All the top three broke the previous record.
