THE Universiade’s Main Press Center (MPC), which opened on August,9th, will provide translation services for 4,200 international journalists reporting the Games.
The languages would include English, Japanese and Spanish. All interpreters were volunteers from Hong Kong and mainland universities, the center said.
The MPC would provide journalists with 24-hour services such as reporting information, transport and accommodation information, and introduction to other parts of China. There was also a bank, post office, convenience store and gift shop.
There are two press conference halls, including a 400-seat auditorium and a smaller hall seating 60. All press conferences for the main sports venues would be conducted at the MPC.
There are three halls providing four meals a day. The halls can seat about 580 reporters at the same time and there was also a small Muslim restaurant.
Apart from special buses between the center and several main venues in Longgang District, there are also 16 Universiade bus routes running daily between the center to Dapeng in Longgang District and Futian Bus Station in Futian District.
