UNITED NATIONS, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Demanding Iran suspend uranium enrichment and peacefully dissolve the world's concerns about the nature of the Iranian nuclear program is the key point of a new resolution adopted by the UN Security Council Wednesday.

In fact, that demand has been repeated over again in the council's past resolutions on the Iranian nuclear issue since December 2006. Aside from approving a new round of sanctions against Iran, the new resolution also renewed that call.

Over time, Tehran has failed to honor these resolutions and repeatedly announced determination to continue such worrisome activities, including the production of 20 percent enriched uranium.

The constant campaign led by the United States and other Western powers against Iran may not be as innocent as it claims to be, but Iran's failure to clarify the nature of its nuclear program can hardly be justified, too.
