GUANGZHOU, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Taipei duo Yang Tsung Hua and Chan Yung Jan dethroned India's defending champion Sania Mirza and compatriot Vishnu Vardhan to claim top spot in mix doubles tennis at Guangzhou Asian Games on Monday.
Yang and Chan thumped the Indian pair 4-6, 6-1, 1-0(2) in only one hour and five minutes. After losing the first set, the Chinese Taipei pair came from behind in the second set and fired five aces and broke serve for three times. Afterwards they led all the way in the decisive set, and finished 10-2 in no more than ten minutes to secure their victory.
It is the third gold for the Chinese Taipei on tennis court at the ongoing Asiad, following the other two in men's team and women's doubles events. |
