HONG KONG -- Taiwan's share prices closed lower Tuesday with the weighted index down 65.37 points, or 0.83 percent, to close at 7,932.71, according to news reaching here from Taipei.

The local bourse traded between 7,939.85 and 7,882.56 points. Turnover totaled 91.88 billion new Taiwan dollars (3.1 billion U. S. dollars) during the trading session.
